Griffith Pottery Works is a private studio owned by Teresa Griffith. A professional potter,
art teacher and designer, Teresa has a B.A. degree in Art Education from the University of Arkansas as well as a Masters Degree in Art Education from Wichita State University. She has worked at the Wichita Art Museum, Wichita Public Schools and West Fork School District.
After more than 35 years in the field of Art Education, Teresa
retired to open Griffith Pottery Works in 2013.
Teresa's travels have taken her to China with "Bringing China To Arkansas" through a Fulbright Fellowship where she spent three weeks touring China with other Arkansas educators. She has traveled to Japan , Egypt, and Germany as well as side trips to Jordan and Switzerland.
After being awarded a two week fellowship at Wild Acres Retreat in North Carolina to concentrate upon building skills away from day to day distractions, Teresa returned to pursue
further refinement of her skills in throwing large pottery vessels.
As the Director of the Northwest Region for the Arkansas Art Educators, Teresa worked to promote art education in schools as well as helping art teachers to build a network of professional educators.
For many years, Teresa presented workshops for fellow art teachers at the yearly Arkansas Art Educators Conference in Little Rock, Arkansas.
As a cooperating teacher with the University of Arkansas, Teresa has mentored Art interns, most of whom are practicing art teachers in the U.S. and overseas.
