During classes at Griffith Pottery Works, you will be throwing three pieces on a pottery wheel.
I will center and open up your clay. Then you will learn to pull up the cylinder and reshape the
clay into your choice of bowls, etc. As this is not a "paint (glaze) your own pottery" studio,
there are not pre-made items that you choose and then glaze. You will be making a one of
a kind piece of hand thrown pottery.
After you make your items, there are two firings, one is bisque, and the other is glaze. Since
these are items made to be used, the pottery is dipped in the glaze and refired to 2300
You will be in the studio on your own or with a selection of your friends for a group class (limit four to a group). I only schedule one class per day so that you receive very personal attention to ensure the success of your creative experience. The fee of $45.00 per person covers all the materials, glazes and two firings. Each person has their own wheel to use during the class. A private class takes about an hour, two people will take about an hour and a half or so.
Please let me know if you have any additional questions that I haven't answered.
